Hi and Welcome! I am Kathy Grate, the Creative Director and Principal Planner for Divine Occasions! I am honored that you decided to visit my site to learn more about us and how we can assist you with your event!
Here are just a few tidbits about me....
First, I love God with all my heart! He loves me unconditionally, consistently blesses me and always has my back! I'm forever grateful to Him and thank Him daily for life, my family, friends and talents He has given me!
I am married to the kindest and most wonderful man, God has ever placed on earth, Daniel! We were college sweeties and he is the Logistics genius of Divine Occasions!
As for education, I have a MBA from Morgan State University and a B.S. in Accounting from South Carolina State University! I also attended Georgia Perimeter College and received my certification in Event Planning!
I'm a Southern Lady and a sorority girl (Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.) who loves to travel! I love all things beautiful....the ocean, blue skies, flowers and smiling faces!
Finally, I have a true passion for what I do! I love creating an intimate atmosphere that will celebrate one of the greatest milestones in your life! I look forward to working with you and helping transform your event into a divine occasion!

How long have you been in business?
Divine Occasions was established on July 7, 2007.
How many events do you book in a day weekend?
To ensure that your "special day" receives our full attention, we will only book one wedding per weekend.
Will you be present on my wedding day or will an associate be present?
Kathy Grate serves as a Principal Planner on every event and she will always have at least one assistant present with her on the day-of your wedding to executively manage your wedding details and ensure a smooth flow throughout the day.
Do you offer packages? How are the payments structured? When are they due? What is the amount of the initial deposit? Here's the answer to all your questions:
Divine Occasions offers customized service options. Each special event or wedding is specifically designed to reflect your personality and style. Pricing is custom created based on each individual event and the following criteria: The level of service needed The size and scope of your event The number of assistants your event will require for us to executively manage your events logistics Custom services you request will influence the starting price of our planning and coordination services. Pricing will be presented only after an initial consultation. A retainer is due at the time of signing the contract.
Do you charge for an initial meeting?
No. All initial consultations are complimentary and last approximately 1 - 2 hours. After getting to know you a bit, if we feel that you would be a better fit with another event planner, we will let you know and give a referral to someone that may be a better match for your personality. That is how committed we are to giving you the best possible event.
